MiracleMan steals the show

MiracleMan (Mal Johnston) has John Bary and Francesca Cumani in hysterics at the New Zealand Bred Advantage Cox Plate Lunch.
MiracleMan (AKA Miracle Mal Johnston) stole the show at the New Zealand Bred Advantage & 2040club Cox Plate Lunch last Friday.
Flying in from Sydney (literally) for breakfast with the best last Tuesday at Moonee Valley, MiracleMan got all the late mail from all the big name jocks and trainers. We captured it all on camera
and were able to show guests the clip at the big lunch on Friday. Click here for the replay.
A great phantom call by up and coming race-caller Edward Sadler, saw the winner of the table raffle go to the lucky person with Helmet under their entree plate. Well done to all who participated in the raffle and to the lucky winner on each table who took home the So You Think framed photo signed by top jock Steven Arnold.
MiracleMan reappeared for the panel and joined the delightful Francesca Cumani, trainer of eventual Cox Plate runner up Jimmy Choux John Bary, and the biggest bookie in town Tom Waterhouse. The panel gave their thoughts on the Cox Plate in a very entertaining session but unfortunately nobody was able to tip the eventual winner Pinker Pinker!
We ended the formal proceedings with a Calcutta auction. Thanks to all who bidders and congratulations to Paul Seccull and Travis Cox who took out the prize. They took home the $14,945.00 first prize with their winning bid of $1,100 for Pinker Pinker.
All in all we were able to raise over $25,000.00 for our chosen charities Red Kite, Riding for the Disabled, Heart Kids and the National Jockey’s Trust. Thanks to everyone for putting your hands in your pockets to support these worthwhile charities.
The fun continued at the after party at the bar at the end of the pier with local Melbourne band The Fauves providing great entertainment.
Finally, I’d like to thank everyone for making the day possible. From our sponsors New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing and Tom Waterhouse, to all our 2040club preferred partners and of course all our guests.
